About
Panke
started out as a self-taught artist, creating independent works and illustrations. Then an opportunity came across to work on animated series at a film studio. As a next step he attended film school and graduated with a degree in animation. His second animated short premiered at the Berlinale and went on to screen at numerous festivals.
He then created a 26-episode animated series for TV. After that, he entered the world of interactive media and video games, which led to a career as a game artist at an international game studio. He then moved to a startup that manufactured robotic toys. While working for an architecture studio his responsibilities included the design of amusement parks. He particularly enjoyed the creative work involved in stage productions.
Skills and knowlegde
His artistic journey has resulted in a comprehensive knowledge that spans the areas of freehand drawing, digital image design, illustration, animation, storyboard, game art, game design, vector graphics, print, architecture, advertising and educational outreach. After nearly three decades, he has entered a phase in which he is increasingly turning his attention to non-commercial, holistic artistic projects.
